Turtle Nesting Season |
Date: November to February 2008
There are 3 known species of turtles in the Ningaloo Reef. These include the Green (most common), Loggerhead and Hawksbill. You can see turtles year round in the waters but turtles come to lay there eggs and hatchlings arrive on our beaches between November and February every year. Please contact Exmouth Visitor Centre regarding tours on 08 9949 1176.

Humpback Whales |
Date: July to November 2008
Humpback whales visit the Ningaloo Reef between July to November each year. The Humpback Whale is the fifth largest of the great whales and can weigh up to 40 tonnes. You can watch them roll around slapping their tails and fins or breaching out of the water to show off. Join one of the educational and fun tours or sunset sail to see these magnificent creatures. Contact Exmouth Visitor Centre on 1800 287 328 for further information.

Dunes Gallery is located on the Harold E Holt Naval Base outside the perimeter fence. Follow the access road past the Sea Breeze Resort and look for the sign on the right hand side of the road.

The Sun Princess Cruise Liner will be docking outside of the Exmouth Marina for the day of 30/11/2008. Pass by the marina to view from afar one of the most exclusive ships travelling international waters.

Australia Day |

Activities during the day:
Join a Family Day out at the Pool. Admission is free from 8am - midday. The aqua run will be up and there will be lots of competitions and prizes.
A free Aussie breakfast will be provided for all attending. Also the Australia Day Active Citzenship Awards for Exmouth will be announced and presented mid morning.
Activities during the evening:
Celebrate the day at the Exmouth Yacht Club. There will be live music and a great party atmosphere. This is a ticket event only.

The Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival is a community organised event highlighting the community's relationship with the whaleshark.
The Festival's objective is to bring together all Government departments, Industry and Community Members to promote new partnerships, enhance education and awareness concerning the protection of the whaleshark and its environment, to share and learn from each others experiences, new advances in technolog, ideas and research and most importantly to communicate these urgent issues through networking with one another.
The festival is jam packed with entertainment displays, workshops, exhibits, photographic/art competitions and music.
